A invenção refere-se a um aglutinante (A) em dispersão aquosa, que é obtenível por neutralização de grupos amino terciário de uma resina amino-epoxídica a1) com ácido e reação do produto resultante com um poliepóxido a2), para formar grupos de amônio quaternário, e conversão em uma dispersão com água. Além do mais, a invenção refere-se a um processo para a preparação de aglutinantes (A) em dispersão aquosa e o uso deles em vernizes para eletrodeposição catódica.
