A presente invenção refere-se a compostos amaciantes biodegradáveis da fórmula (1): [(R)~ 4-m~-N(+)-[(CH~ 2~)~ n~-Y-R^ 1^]m]X(-) com um valor de ácido de não mais que 6,5. Um processo para a fabricação do dito composto também é provido. O amaciante pode ser incorporado a composições amaciantes para formar composições líquidas e sólidas, incluindo dispersões líquidas e composições transparentes.
