Abstract
Patente de Invenção: "ANÁLOGOS DE L-BETA-DIOXOLANO URIDINA E MÉTODOS PARA TRATAMENTO E PREVENÇÃO CONTRA INFECÇÕES VIRÓTICAS". A presente invenção refere-se a constatação de que certos análogos de -L-dioxolano nucleosídeo que contêm uma base de uracila e, de preferência, uma base de uracila 5-haiossubstituído, apresentam atividade inesperadamente elevada contra o vírus Esptein-Barr (EBV), o vírus varicela-zoster (VZV) e o vírus de herpes humana 8 (HV-8). Em particular, os compostos de acordo com a presente invenção mostram potente inibição da replicação do vírus (crescimento viral) em combinação com toxidez muito baixa para as células hospedeiras (isto é, tecido animal ou humano). Os compostos são úteis para o tratamento de infecções por EBV, VZV ou HV-8 em seres humanos.
