A aplicação de 1-adamantanaminas (amantadinas) ou compostos de estrutura análoga é proposta para combater infecções por Vírus de Doenças de Borna, bem como para o tratamento de doenças emocionais e perturbações ligadas com infecções por Vírus de Doença de Borna no homem e animal. O emprego conduz à eliminação rápida e duradoura da sintomática e à supressão da atividade do vírus.
