A presente invenção proporciona um método para atenuar as modificações catabólicas pós-cirúrgicas e respostas hormonais à fadiga. Para normalizar a glicose do sangue, é administrado em uma dosagem eficaz, GLP-1, análogos de GLP-1 ou derivados de GLP-1.
