A invenção refere-se a um método de alívio dos sintomas de PMS e ansiedade. O método compreende a administração nasal de um esteróide que é uma vomeroferina humana, de maneira tal que a vomeroferina é ligada a um receptor neuroepitelial específico. O esteróide ou esteróides é/são de preferência administrado(s) na forma de uma composição farmacêutica contendo um ou mais veículos farmaceuticamente aceitáveis.
