"PROMOTORES CATALÍTICOS DE POLIMERIZAÇÃO" Compostos da fórmula onde n é 1, 2, 3, ou 4 X¹ e X² são cada, independentemente, cloro ou bromo A é O ou S; R¹ é hidrogênio ou alquila C~ 1~-C~ 16~; R² é alquila C~ 1~-C~ 16~, arila C~ 1~-C~ 4~, alquilideno C~ 1~-C~ 4~, ou CHOR^ 5^; R3 é hidrogênio, cloro, bromo, ou OR6; R^ 4^ é alquila C~ 1~-C~ 16~, aralquila C~ 7~-C~ 16~, alquenila C~ 2~-C~ 16~, ou arila C~ 6~-C~ 18~; R^ 5^ é hidrogênio, alquila C~ 1~-C~ 16~, aralquila C~ 7~-C~ 16~, alquenila C~ 12~-C~ 16~, ou arila C~ 6~-C~ 18~; e R6 é hidrogênio ou alquila C~ 1~-C~ 16~. Esses compostos isoladamente e em combinação com certos ácidos halo-but-2-enóicos e esteres são úteis como promotores catalíticos nos processos de polimerização de etileno.
