Processo para a preparação de 2,2'-(1-metil-1,2-etano-diilideno)-bis[hidrazina carboximidamido] por: a) reagir cloridrato de amino-guanidina com aldeído metilglioxal ou metilglioxal dimetil acetal; e b) purificar o 2,2'-(1-metil-1,2-etano-diilideno)bis[hidrazina carboximidamido] por cristalização de um meio aquoso ácido - álcool isopropílico.
