Uso de um lubrificante em um motor diesel para dispersar fuligem produzida pelo motor diesel, sendo a fuligem dispersada sem afetar adversamente a viscosidade do lubrificante; compreendendo o lubrificante um dispersante e um funcionalizado agente melhorador do índice de viscosidade; compreendendo o funcionalizado agente melhorador do índice de viscosidade um produto reacional copolimérico enxertado elevadamente funcionalizado de um monômero aromático ou alifático, etilenicamente insaturado, contendo nitrogênio, oxigênio, ou nitrogênio e oxigênio, possuindo de 2 a 50 átomos de carbono, enxertado em um copolímero poliolefínico.
