Abstract

COMPOSIÇÃO INIBIDORA DE POLIMERIZAÇÃO. Composição inibidora de polimerização para inibir a polimerização de um monomero vinil aromático a elevadas temperaturas compreendendo: (a) um derivado de benzofuroxan da fórmula onde R é C~ 1~-C~ 4~ alquil ou C~ 1~-C~ 4~ alcóxi; R^ 1^ é um grupo nitro; m e n são cada um independentemente 0, 1 ou 2; e (b) um solvente selecionado do grupo consistindo de tolueno, xileno, etil benzeno, vinil tolueno, divinil benzeno, alfa-metil estireno, e C~ 12~-C~ 18 hidrocarboneto. Também é descrito um método para inibir a polimerização de monomeros vinil aromático em elevadas temperaturas usando essa composição.
