A invenção propicia oligoésteres de fórmula 1; R^ 1^ e R^ 7^ são alquila linear ou ramificada c~ 1-18~, R^ 2^ e R^ 6^ são etileno, R^ 3^ é 1,4-fenileno, R^ 4^ é etileno, R^ 5^ é etileno, 1,2-propileno ou misturas estatísticas de ambos ou composição arbitrária, n^ 1^ e n^ 5^ independentemente entre si são um número entre 1 e 500, n^ 2^ é um número entre 10 e 140, n^ 3^ é um número entre 1 e 12, n^ 4^ é um número entre 7 e 40, n^ 3^+n^ 4^ sendo pelo menos 11, um processo para sua preparação, seu uso em composições detergente e de limpeza, e composições detergente e de limpeza compreendendo os novos oligoésteres.
