Um dispositivo de comunicação (300) inclui um modulador digital (301), um Processador de Sinal Digital (306) e um amplificador (312). O modulador digital (301) inclui um gerador de informação (304) e um dispositivo de su pressão de pico (402). O dispositivo de supressão de pico (402) inclui um mapeador de símbolo (404) e um escalonador de símbolo (406). As informações geradas pelo gerador (401) são mapeadas em um diagrama de constelação via mapeador de símbolo (404). As informações mapeadas são, então, escalonadas no escalonador (406) a fim de reduzir a relação pico para média do sinal na entrada do amplificador (312).
