Os materiais de expulsão de oxigênio compreendem pelo menos um composto oxidável por oxigênio molecular em que pelo menos um composto está contido em compartimento (s) ou microcápsula (s) impermeável a oxigênio que pode, conforme necessário, ser partido ou de outra maneira tornado permeável a oxigênio por aplicação de calor, radiação eletromagnética, pressão ou tensão mecânica, ou hidratação.
