Abstract
Patente de Invenção: "EXPRESSÃO DE FOSFORILASE DE SACAROSE EM PLANTAS". Introdução de atividade de fosforilase de sacarose em plantas por transformação com um gene para a enzima aumenta a taxa de hidrólise de sacarose, levando a níveis aumentados de amido, de óleo e de proteína. O gene preferido é de Streptococcus mutans . Surpreendentemente, em baratas transformadas para expressar este gene em tubérculos, suscetibilidade a descoloração de machucadura reduzida e uniformidade aumentada de deposição de amido através de todo o tubérculo são conseguidas.
