A presente invenção envolve plantas Brassica oleracea machos estéreis citoplásmicas que contêm citoplasma CMS polima. As plantas permanecem estéreis em altas temperaturas. As plantas Brassica oleracea da presente invenção podem ser praparadas por técnicas de cultivo tradicionais. Diferentes tipos Brassica então podem ser produzidos usando-se estas plantas através do emprego de técnicas de cultivo tradicionais ou através de fusão de protoplasto.
