Pó estéril que compreende micropartículas com 0,1 a 50 m de diâmetro, obtenível por seagem com borrifamento e reticulação de um material solúvel em água que tem grupos funcionais livres, é caracterizado pelo fato de que as micropartículas são hidrofílicas, podem ser reconstítuídas em água para dar uma suspensão monodispersa e têm retidos os citados grupos disponsíveis para produções de derivados. As partículas são ligadas a drogas ou outas moléculas funcionais e são usadas como veículos em terapia.
