Os novos polímeros formadores de filme, possuindo uma estrutura principal de carbono e grupos pendentes contendo átomos de nitrogênio quaternizados, sendo hidrofóbico pelo menos um dos substituintes de nitrogênio quaternizado, e contendo pelo me4nos 8 átomos de carbono, apresentam propriedades antiperspirantes. Para o uso como antiperspirante, eles são dissolvidos ou suspensos em um veículo não-aquoso com uma pequena quantidade de água.
