Patente de Invenção de "MATERIAL ABSORVENTE DOTADO DE CARACTERÍSTICAS DE SUPERFÍCIE MODIFICADAS, ARTIGO ABSORVENTE E PROCESSO PARA PRODUZIR O MATERIAL ABOSRVENTE". Descreve-se um material absorvente que compreende um polímero absorvente intumescível na água, insolúvel na água. O material absorvente compreendde um poliéter reativo aglutinado quimicamente ao polímero absorvente, pelo que o ângulo de contacto do sangue em uma superfície do material absorvente alcança entre cerca de 0 graus a cerca de 40 graus. Por causa da umectabilidade com os liquidos, o material absorvente pode proporcionar característica absorventes mais elevadas com líquidos, em particular com sangue.
