Tris-aril-s-triazinas que contém de uma a três porções derivadas de resorcinol com pelo menos uma das ditas porções substituída na posição 5 por um grupo alquila, fenilaquila, halogênio, tio ou sulfonila têm espectros de UV que são deslocados no vermelho para a faixa próxima ao UV e proporcionam excelente estabilização para os substratos poliméricos contra os efeitos deletéricos de luz actínica.
