A presente invenção proporciona polímeros em estrela, úteis como agentes de melhoria de índice de viscosidade nas composições de óleo, possuindo vraços de copolímero em tribloco de poliisopreno hidrogenado e poliestireno onde o poliestireno está posionado próximo ao núcleo do polímero em estrela para proporcionar excelente performance à baixa temperatura e capacidade de acabamento como um fragmento polimérico; um processo para a preparação deles; e composições de óleos lubrificantes e concentrados de óleos lubrificantes contendo-os.
