Patente de Invenção: "DERIVADOS 5-(2-IMIDAZOLINIL AMINO) BENZIMIDAZOL, SUA PREPARAÇÃO E SEU USO COMO AGONISTAS ALFA-2 ADRENOCEPTOR". A presente invenção envolve compostos tendo estrutura (I) onde: (a) R é alcanila ou alquenila C~ 1~-C~ 3~ não substituído; (b) é selecionado de hidrogênio; alcanila ou alquenila C~ 1~-C~ 3~ não substituído; alquil tio ou alcóxi C~ 1~-C~ 3~ não substituído; hidroxi; tiol; ciano; e halo; e (c) R<39' é selecionado de hidrogênio, metila, etila e i-propila. A presente invenção também envolve composições farmacêuticas contendo tais novos compostos, e o uso de tais compostos para prevenção ou tratamento de desordens respiratórias, oculares e/ou gastrointestinais.
