Patente de Invenção: "COMPOSTOS DE 6-(2-IMIDAZOLINILAMI-NO) QUINOXALINA ÚTEIS COMO AGONISTAS DE ADRENOCEPTORES DE ALFA-2". A presente invenção envolve métodos de tratamento de congestão nasal compreendendo a administração, a um ser humano ou a um animal inferior que necessita de tal tratamento, de uma quantidade segura e eficaz de um composto tendo a estrutura (I), em que a) R é C~ 1~-C~ 3~ alcanila ou alquenila não-substituída; e (b) R' é selecionado de hidrogênio; C~ 1~-C~ 3~ alcanila ou alquenila não substituída; C~ 1~-C~ 3~ alquiltio ou alcóxi não-substituído; hidróxi; tiol; e halo. A presente invenção também envolve o uso de tais compostos para a prevenção ou para o tratamento de outras desordens respiratórios, oculares e/ou gastrointestinais.
