Abstract
Uma máquina de endurecimento por indução (20) para endurecer contornos de engrenagens hipóides (27) inclui uma unidade lógica programável (21), uma fonte de líquido de têmpera (40) e um gerador de alta-frequência (22) que são operavelmente conectados a uma bobina de indução de alta freqúência (70), que tem uma face inferior geralmente cônica (71) e está posicionada sobre a concêntrica à engrenagem hipóide (27). O prato suporte (28) para a engrenagem (27) está conectado a um motor de acionamento rotativo (30) e com a engrenagem hipóide girando a aproximadamente 900 a 1800 rpm, a bobina de indução (70) é energizada com quatro pulsos de baixa energia de duração relativamente curta. A etapa de aquecimento final é um pulso de alta energia seguida imediatamente pela etapa de têmpera. Existe um ângulo incluído entre a face inferior (71) e a face superior da engrenagem hipóide (27) de modo a se obter um calor balanceado do extremo superior (72) ao extremo inferior (73).
