Abstract

Uma vela de ignição ou outro ignitor é apresentado no qual pelo menos uma parte operativa de um, de ambos ou de todos os seus eletrodos é construída de um material que inclui um composto intermetálico tendo um ponto de fusão acima de 1400°C e selecionado para exibir adequada tenacidade, resistência a choque térmico, e condutividade elétrica. O composto intermetálico pode formar uma fase de um material multifásico. O alumineto de rutênio é apresentado como um composto intermetálico preferencial.
