A presente invenção se refere a um processo a polimerização de etileno e/ou uma ou mais alfa-olefinas compreendendo contactar etileno, e/ou a(s) alfa-olefina(s) com um catalisador compreendendo um primeiro componente que é um composto de bis-(ciclo-penta-dienil) de metal do grupo IVA contendo um substituinte capaz de reagir com um cátion, e um segundo componente que é um composto possuindo um ânion volumoso contendo um ou mais átomos de boro e que é substancialmente não-coordenante sob as condições da reação e um cátion, em cujo processo é adicionado novamente o primeiro componente.
