Abstract
Um equalizador é arranjado para equalizar um sinal recebido que, compreende sinais de múltiplos níveis S(-3), S(-1), S(+1), S(+3) codificados em binário-2, quaternário-1 correspondentes a níveis de sinal predeterminados -3, -1, +1, +3, respectivamente. O Equalizador inclui uma unidade (107) de ganho com um ganho ajustável, um filtro (111) com um polo e um zero ajustáveis, e um processador (119). O processador ajusta o equalizador amostrando sinais S(+3) equalizados e ajustando o ganho, o polo e o zero de modo que o valor médio dos sinais S(+3) equalizados seja substancialmente igual a +3 volts e que a variância dos sinais S(+3) equalizados seja minimizada.
