Materiais porosos adequados para uma variedade de usos, incluindo tecidos à prova d'água/respiráveis, filtros de ar, filtros de líquido, membranas de separação de líquido/líquido, enxertos vasculares, vedações mecânicas, etc., que compreendem uma combinação íntima de aproximadamente 50 a 99,9 por cento em peso de polímero de politetrafluoroetileno e aproximadamente 0,1 a 50 por cento em peso de um polímero orgânico fluorado que é líquido sob condições ambientes, tais como os fluidos de perfluoroeter, onde o material apresenta uma microestrutura caracterizada por nós interligados por fibrilas.
