Abstract
Trata-se de um processo para forrar um elemento tubular com um forro elastomérico que tem um diâmetro externo que é inicialmente maior do que o diâmetro interno do elemento tubular. Uma série de cilindros redutores (37, 57, 59, 61, 63) reduz o diâmetro externo do forro em um grau pré-selecionado. Uma série de cilindros conformadores (65, 84, 85) forma o forro reduzido em uma elípse, deste modo permitindo que o forro reduzido seja guiado em volta de curvas e gire para dentro do elemento tubular. Depois da inserção, o forro é levado a expandir-se até substancialmente seu diâmetro externo original, de modo a prender o forro dentro do elemento tubular.
