Os aditivos de núcleo/envoltório, utilizáveis na modificação das propriedades físicas e/ou processamento de poli(cloreto de vinila) e outros polímeros de matriz termoplástica, são preparados separadamente em pequenos tamanhos de partícula por polimerização em emulsão, coaglomerados, ainda encapsulados por um envoltório final e isolados por secagem por aspersão ou coagulação. Os pós isolados são prontamente re-dispersos para seus tamanhos de partícula originais no polímero de matriz.
