Abstract
A invenção é para um processo para produção de 1,6-dioxaspiro[2,5ôctano da fórmula I (vide fórmula I): por reação de 4-metilenotetrahidropirano de fórmula II (vide fórmula II): com um peroxo composto orgânico, caracterizado pelo fato de se efetuar a reação do composto II com um hidroperóxido orgânico em presença de um carboxilato, um alcoolato ou um composto complexo de titânio, vanádio, molibdênio ou tungstênio, como catalisador. O produto obtido pelo processo serve como intermediário para a síntese de tetrahidropirano-4-aldeído que, por sua vez, é aplicado para a fabricação de herbicidas.
