Um processo para a pirólise de materiais de carbonação tais como madeira que compreende aquecer direta ou indiretamente o material carbonífero com gases de combustão. Quando inicia a carbonização pára-se o aquecimento direto, ao mesmo tempo que se continua com aquecimento indireto até a carbonização estar concluída. Descreve-se igualmente uma aplicação para a realização do processo.
