Abstract

Mercapto-álcoois neopentílicos terminados em perfluoroalquila e contendo heteroátomo de fórmulas I e II (vide fórmulas I e II) são preparados a partir dos neopentil oxetanos perfluorados correspondentes, em que R~ f~ é uma perfluoroalquila de cadeia linear ou ramificada de 1 a 18 átomos de carbono ou a dita perfluoroalquila substituída por perfluoroalcóxi de 2 a 6 átomos de carbono, E é um grupo de ligação e X e X~ 1~ são frações heteroatômicas. Os produtos de reação desses mercapto-álcoois fluorados com eletrófilos são apresentados, assim como certos derivados funcionais. Composições contendo esses materiais proporcionam melhor estabilidade térmica e revestimentos repelentes a óleo e água de baixa energia superficial utilizáveis para têxteis, vidro, papel, couro e outros materiais.
