São preparadas novas 3-aril-pirrolidin-2,4-dionas substituídas da fórmula (vide fórmula I) na qual X representa hidrogênio, alquila, halogênio, alcóxi; Y representa hidrogênio, alquila, halogênio, alcóxi, halogenoalquila; Z representa alquila, halogênio, alcóxi; n representa um número de 0-3; R representa hidrogênio ou os grupos -CO-R^ 1^ , -CO-O-R^ 2^ , nos quais R^ 1^ e R^ 2^ têm os significados indicados no texto do pedido; A representa alquila, alquenila, alquinila, alcoxialquila, polialcoxialquila, alquiltioalquila, cicloalquila eventualmente interrompida por heteroátomos, eventualmente substituídas por halogênio, ou arilalquila eventualmente substituída por halogênio, alquila, halogenoalquila, alcóxi, nitro; B representa arila ou benzila eventualmente substituída. Os novos compostos da fórmula (I) vide fórmula (I) possuem propriedades inseticidas, acaricidas, fungicidas e antimicóticas fortemente acentuadas.
