Abstract

Um fio dental compreende uma fita de monofilamento de PTFE não poroso, orientado, tendo uma resistência à tração de pelo menos 200 Mpa, preferentemente 200-600 Mpa, e um revestimento de cera. Opcionalmente a cera contém um aditivo. A cera é aplicada à fita a partir de um banho de cera fundida para um rolo de captação cuja superfície se move em relação à fita na região de contato.
