Abstract

Descrevem-se um material de cermet (metal cerâmico), um cilindro de laminação composto que compreende um núcleo base de aço ou ferro e uma superfície dura do material de cermet, bem como um processo para formar um cilindro de laminação composto mediante soldagem a arco de plasma do material de cermet sobre o núcleo. A superfície dura compreende uma dispersão de partículas de carboneto de nióbio em uma matriz base de cobalto ou uma matriz base de níquel que possui uma concentração de carbono na matriz inferior a 0,3% em peso. Uma característica importante da superfície dura é a de que ela possui uma dispersão uniforme de partículas de carboneto de nióbio.
