Máquina elétrica, apresentando uma parte de indução (12) provida com enrolamentos condutores (10) e uma parte de excitação (14), sendo que entre a parte de indução (12) e a parte de excitação (14) encontra-se um entreferro (28), a parte de indução (12) e a parte de excitação (14) são móveis relativamente entre si, e a parte da indução (12) apresenta ranhuras (24), ocupadas por enrolamentos, entre dentes (22) contíguos, que se salientam para a direção do entreferro (28), caracterizada por dentes (22) da parte de indução (12) cuja largura (b) - medida paralelamente a uma face aplicada ao longo do entreferro (28) bem como perpendicularmente à direção de movimentação relativa (34) de parte de indução (12) e parte de excitação (14) - na correspondente base de dente é maior do que na correspondente cabeça de dente (26) contígua ao entreferro.
