Trata-se de uma rede contendo anilhas nas laterais e que, para ser operada com o intuito de aprisionar os organismos concentrados sob luzes atrativas, basta que se puxe um cabo de náilon e a mesma se fechará como uma cortina, confinando o pescado e mantendo-o em boas condições, uma vez que assim capturado o mesmo não estará sujeito aos traumas mecânicos comuns em outras artes de pesca.
