A invenção refere-se a novos derivados de 1,4-diidropiridina da fórmula geral (I): (Vide fórmula) onde R^ 1^ , R^ 2^ e R^ 3^ e n têm o seu significado estabelecido nas reivindicações. Os compostos da invenção têm efeito vasodilatador e são, portanto, adequados para o tratamento da hipertensão. Alguns dos compostos têm efeito vasoconstritor e podem, portanto, ser usados para o tratamento da hipotensão.
