Abstract
Esta invenção refere-se a uma vedação para uma pilha alcalina cilíndrica (80). O elemento inclui um suporte de metal (40) tendo uma mola anular (45) disposta na periferia externa. A mola é colocada sob compressão por uma torcedura radial e a mola é adaptada para expandir e contrair pelo que a vedação é mantida durante ciclagem térmica. O elemento também inclui uma arruela de plástico (30) tendo um suspiro anular projetado para abrir em pressões muito elevadas pelo que o referido elemento de vedação é particularmente útil em pilhas alcalinas tendo pouco ou nenhum mercúrio pelo que podem se desenvolver pressões internas elevadas.
