A presente invenção se refere a um método e um dispositivo de abafamento de alto-forno, que tem como objetivo diminuir o efeito desfavorável de resfriamento dos altos-fornos, quando ocorrerem paradas programadas ou acidentais nos altos-fornos, além de possibilitar o retorno da operaçào de maneira segura e rápida, aumentando a disponibilidade do alto-forno.
