A presente invenção refere-se a um anel de pistão para motor de combustão interna, dotado na sua superfície externa de um revestimento deNitreto de Cromo (CrN e Cr~2~N) e Nitreto de Niábio (NbN e Nb~4~N3~), capaz de oferecer maior resistência à escamação do revestimento, mantendo ainda um excelente nível de resistência ao desgaste e arranhões à camada de Ni- treto de Cromo depositada.
