Plásticos e revestimentos fornecem atividade antimicrobiana excelente pela incorporação nos mesmos de prata elementar e prata suportada em um zeólito ou em um vidro. As composições são adequadas para uso médico, por exemplo, tubos, cateteres, materiais têxteis e o semelhante. Os materiais têxteis de plástico são tecidos ou não tecidos. Os plásticos são, por exemplo, poliuretano, policarbonato, borracha de silicone lÃquido, polipropileno ou polietileno ou compósitos de polÃmero.
