PROCESSO PARA PREPARAÇÃO DE COMPÓSITOS MAGNÉTICOS REFRIGERANTES, DISPOSITIVO E PROCESSO DE REFRIGERAÇÃO. A presente invenção refere-se a processos de obtenção de compósitos magnéticos refrigerantes obtidos diretamente por fusão dos elementos de natureza comercial. Em particular, esta invenção trata dos materiais sumarizados pela fórmula de composição Gd~5+ ~Ge~2+ ~(Si~1- ~Sn )~2~, com 0,1 x 0,9, os quais exibem extraordinárias propriedades magnetocalóricas em temperaturas desde -33 C (240 K) para x = 0,1 até -223 C (50 K) para x = 0,9, região de liquefação de importantes gases. A presente invenção versa também sobre dispositivos e processos de refrigeração compreendendo o uso dos ditos compósitos magnéticos.
