Abstract
IDENTIFICAÇÃO DE UM MICRO-RNA QUE ATIVA A EXPRESSÃO DA CADEIA PESADA DE -MIOSINA. A presente invenção está relacionada à identificação de um microRNA, miR -208, que induz a expressão da cadeia pesada de -miosina ( -MHC) e reprime genes da proteína contrátil do músculo esquelético rápido. A inibição dessa função é proposta como um tratamento para fibrose cardíaca, hipertrofia e/ou insuficiência cardíaca, e o aumento dessa função pode ser usado para reprimir genes de fibra lenta e ativar genes de fibra rápida no tratamento de distúrbios musculoesqueléticos.
