Abstract

MOLÉCULAS DE ÁCIDO NUCLEICO. A presente invenção refere-se a uma molécula de ácido nucleico com a sequência especificada em SEQ ID NO: 1, a sequência de proteína correspondente como especificada em SEQ ID NO: 2, e variantes e fragmentos funcionais das mesmas. Os genes quiméricos, vetores e microorganismos correspondentes são também providos. A proteína tem um papel na degradação de n-alcanos de cadeia longa e pode ser usada para modificar as propriedades de substratos contendo n-alcano de cadeia longa. Os métodos de usar a proteína da invenção, por exemplo para causar a degradação dos n-alcanos de cadeia longa são também providos, assim como são os métodos de identificação de enzimas que são requeridos para o metabolismo de um substrato.
