Um forro (22) é acoplado ao substrato (12) e um material comprimível (24) (tal como espuma) é injetado entre a folha (22) e o forro (24) . A folha (18) se destina a promove a adesão ao material comprimível (24) (por exemplo, união ou ligação mecânica e/ou química) . Se porções da folha de cobertura (18) estão expostas sobre uma superfície visível, a folha de cobertura pode também ser configurada para proporcionar uma aparência decorativa ou ornamental.
