A invenção refere-se a um processo e a um aparelho para a combustão com baixo teor de NOx, com, pelo menos, um queimador (5) que utiliza combustível e agente oxidante e/ou gases de queima do forno e/ou diáxido de carbono e/ou vapor. A combustão com baixo teor de NOx, de acordo com a invenção, pode ser utilizada em fornos convencionais de fusão e/ou de espera, em particular em fornos de espera em alumínio ou fornos de tambor giratório e fornos de fusão de vidro,com potencial para que sejam feitas economiasconsideráveis.
