A presente invenção refere-se aos compostos da fórmula geral em que R¹ é -OR¹', -SR¹' ou é um grupo de heterocicloalquila; R¹' é alquila inferior, alquila inferior substituida por halogênio ou é - (CH~ 2~)~ n~ -cicIoaIquila; R² é -S(O)~ 2~-alquiía inferior, -S(O)~ 2~NH-aíquiía inferior, NO~ 2~ ou CN; X¹ é CR³ ou N; X² é CR³ ou N; R³/R³' são independentemente um do outro hidrogênio, halogênio, aí- quila inferior, CN, NO~ 2~, -S(O)~ 2~-fenila, -S(O)~ 2~-alquila inferior, -S(O)~ 2~-piridin-2, 3 ou 4-ila, fenila, opcionalmente substituida por um ou dois substituintes se- lecionados do grupo consistindo em NO~ 2~ ou halogênio, ou é alquila inferior substituida por halogênio ou é -C(O)-alquila inferior; n é 0,1 ou 2; e aos sais de adição de ácido farmaceuticamente aceitáveis dos mesmos. Foi descoberto que os compostos de fórmula geral I são bons inibidores do veículo de glicina 1 (GIyT-1). Eles podem ser usados no tratamento de esquizofrenia.
