É planejado fornecer um meio de prevenir a doença de ascofaerose que seja seguro para as abelhas domésticas e permaneça eficaz por um longo período de tempo. Um agente de prevenç~io para a doença de ascofaerose, que compreende uma mistura preparada mediante a união de um éster de ácido isotiociânico com um triglicerídeo de ácido orgânico e/ou um composto de colofônia e um suporte que carrega a mistura, é fornecido em uma colméia ou ao seu redor.
