DISSULFURAÇÃO E UM NOVO PROCESSO PARA A MESMA. A presente invenção refere-se a uma composição que compreende um óxido metálico e um promotor, em que pelo menos uma porção do promotor está presente como um promotor de valência reduzida, e métodos de preparar tal composição. A composição assim obtida é empregada em uma zona de dissulfuração para retirar o enxofre de uma corrente de hidro-carbonetos.
